Jessica Camille Aguirre (@jessicacaquirre) is a freelance journalist based out of Berlin, Germany, and she’s got a ripping piece for this month’s Atavist, “Watch It Burn.” Two scammers, a web of betrayal, and Europe’s fraud of the century.

It deals with carbon credits and the scammers were quick to pounce on this upstart industry.

Jessica is a writer and magazine journalist whose work focuses on climate change and extremes. Her reporting has appeared at The New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair, n+1, Harper’s Magazine, the New York Review of Books and many others, and it has been anthologized in the Best American Science and Nature Writing series. She is currently writing a book about Biosphere 2 and how recreating nature shaped our understanding of the planet.
