Let Us Now Praise Paper Calendars

I love a digital calendar. I love having that shit in hand. Reminders. Gimme all the reminders. But what I love more than a digital calendar is redundancy in the form of a paper desk calendar.

I want to see the entirety of a month laid out before me that is not simultaneously tracking my every move. I like putting my podcast appointments, my podcast appearances, and deadlines down on paper. I like putting my reading schedule on the paper so I know which books to stay on top of ahead of podcasts.

The fact that this paper calendar is underneath my forearms at all times means I’m imprinting these dates into my brain. Color coding gives me, at a glance, the chance to see how much of my brain power needs to be committed to intense listening. Reporting calls, deadlines, CNF Pod dates, other dates.

  • Green: CNF Pod
  • Orange: Reading Schedule
  • Blue: My podcast appearances
  • Red: Deadline
  • Pink: TBD

Can’t recommend this enough.
